Inspired by a recent trip to Minneapolis, Still Reigning Purple is a musical journey that bridges the gap between the Bay Area and the birthplace of the Minneapolis Sound. Drawing inspiration from iconic locations such as Paisley Park, First Avenue, Celebration, and the rich musical culture of Minneapolis, this five-track project blends Minneapolis-inspired funk, West Coast G-Funk, and Bay Area flavor into a unique listening experience.
The EP celebrates the timeless influence of funk, creativity, and independent artistry while paying tribute to the city that inspired its creation. As soon as the trip ended, DJ Loc Da Smoke returned to California and immediately got to work transforming those experiences into music.
